AWE Fellows Program
“The AWE network provided me with support and coaching, and helped me gain a better understanding of my role as entrepreneur.” Irene Susantio, AWE Fellow 2009
About the Program
The Building Bridges Fellowship Program is designed to encourage and support the career paths of early-stage women entrepreneurs launching ideas backed by a business model and an identified target market. The Fellowship provides opportunities for each selected Fellow to be mentored, coached, and advised by experienced AWE members who help nurture their entrepreneurial aspirations.
2015 AWE Fellows
The Building Bridges Fellowship Program (Fellows Program) is a signature, 1-year program of the Alliance for Women Entrepreneurs that supports first-time women entrepreneurs in the early stages of launching a product or service into a scalable enterprise. The start-up venture must backed by a business model and an identified target market, and have some early sales revenue or proven interest by potential customers or partners in the target market.
The Fellows Program provides build-out mentoring, leadership coaching and other business advising by experienced AWE members committed to fostering the entrepreneur’s aspirations, growth and success. It offers opportunities to network with AWE members and to attend AWE events free-of-charge. AWE supports women-founded, women-led ventures with high growth potential through education, networking, mentoring, and exposure to investment resources.
To be eligible for selection as a Fellow, a nominee must be the Founder (or Co-founder) and CEO of the start-up venture, usually in years 1–3. The company should be based in the Greater Philadelphia Region and backed by a business model with projected growth potential. The nominee must be able to articulate her business and CEO-development needs and how the Fellows Program can help her achieve business goals. Commitment to coaching, mentoring and participating in Fellows Program and other AWE events is required.
