Karen Griffith Gryga, Visionary Venture Capitalist, is 2019 Iris Newman Award Recipient

Karen Griffith Gryga, who has helped launch over 200 companies with nearly $2 billion in shareholder value, is the 2019 recipient of the Iris Newman Award, an honor bestowed by the Alliance of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) to a woman who exhibits a trailblazing spirit, inspiring leadership, and support for women in the entrepreneurial community.
Giffith Gryga is Managing Director of Dreamit Funds for DreamIt, a leading venture fund and technology accelerator, and co-founder of Dreamit Health, one of the most active early stage healthcare investors in the country. She also is founder of the DreamIt Athena program which focuses on female founders.

Griffith Gryga has been a force in entrepreneurship for more than 20 years. She was co-founder and CEO of FashInvest, a business platform focused on bringing together entrepreneurs, investors and industry executives to foster emerging growth enterprises within Branded Goods, Fashion and Retail. FashInvest is a media, events and advisory entity which was acquired by Penske Media Group.
She is co-president of Wharton Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and co-founder of Wharton Women in Private Equity and Venture Capital.
This prestigious award is presented in honor and in memory of Iris Newman, an AWE founder who forged a profound and enduring legacy in advancing women entrepreneurs. The honor has been given to an outstanding woman each year since 2002.
Griffith Gryga will receive the award at The Intersection, an event that brings together AWE’s entire, expansive network from startup founders to established founders. It is a rare opportunity to connect and celebrate women’s high-growth entrepreneurship. The Intersection will be held on November 4, 2019, at Convene in Philadelphia.
